From March 21-22, in the framework of the working visit to the USA the delegation headed by ARM Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan was in New York.

Seyran Ohanyan met UN High Representative for Disarmament Affairs Angela Kane. During the meeting the Armenian side introduced approaches regarding issues of counter-terrorism strategy, conventional arms, Arms Trade Treaty, military expenditures and budget, prevention and elimination of Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW), and regional disarmament. During the joint working consultations with United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for the Department of Peacekeeping Operations Dmitry Titov and Policy and Planning Department officials they discussed issues of the Armenian troops’ further participation in UN-led peacekeeping operations and the cooperation to enhance humanitarian demining capacities. During the visit the delegation headed by ARM Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan met representatives of the Armenian community. During the entire visit the delegation was accompanied by Permanent Representative of Armenia to UN Karen Nazaryan.
