On July 9 First Deputy Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan held a consultation with members of the advisory group presenting the approach and the vision of RA MoD in organizing the new cycle for the Defence Strategic Review of the Republic of Armenia with the main emphasis on the stages of the review and the necessity of refining specifics of methods and procedures. He also acknowledged the profound recommendations rendered by international partners during the previous cycle of SDR that had a significant role in the development of final planning documents. Members of the International advisory group expressed hope that similar level of cooperation will be recorded during the forthcoming operations, appreciating the efficiency of the joint work carried out during the previous cycle of SDR. On July 12 the U.S. and the UK Joint Advisory Group members were hosted by Minister of Defence Seyran Ohanyan. During the meeting, the advisory group members briefed about the findings they has obtained in the previous days and presented the draft roadmap and action plan of. Expressing gratitude for active assistance shown by the advisory group, Defence Minister noted that as an important component to the mid-term and long-term defence expenditure SDR has acquired a regular nature and expressed his confidence that with joint efforts, the annual process of RA Strategic Defence Review will be accomplished with high efficiency resulting in the clear vision and insight about "RA Armed Forces"-2020" development plan.
