RA MoD delegation`s visit to Georgia

From June 27 to 29, MoD delegation led by First Deputy Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan and First Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General E. Apriamov, took part in the international conference on defense and security issues organized by the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Georgia in Batumi.

The two-day conference focused on the questions concerning defense policy and reforms of the Republic of Georgia, its participation in international peacekeeping missions, NATO enlargement prospects as well as the Euro-Atlantic security and threats and challenges in the South Caucasus and Black Sea region. On the sidelines of the conference, First Deputy Defense Minister of the Republic of Armenia, David Tonoyan, had bilateral meetings with United States Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia, Dr. Evelyn Farkas, and with Member of Parliament, Minister for International Security Strategy of the United Kingdom, Dr. Andrew Murrison. Ongoing projects and prospects for further cooperation were discussed during these meetings, particularly on such issues as international peacekeeping missions, military education and training, defense reforms and humanitarian demining field. In addition, these provided an opportunity to exchange views on regional developments.
