ARM Defense Minister congratulating the ambassador on assuming the new position ARM defence minister expressed his confidence that the great experience of the ambassador in the defence and security sector gained at NATO will contribute to the further development of bilateral relations. The minister made a brief presentation of reforms carried out in the Armed forces and steps undertaken for the implementation of Strategic Defense Review findings John Heffern thanked for congratulations and noted that the American side highly appreciates the support of the ARM armed forces in peacekeeping operations of Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq. The Ambassador added that US welcomes the process of reforms carried out in the Armed forces and is willing to support and develop relations with Armenia in the format of bilateral relations as well as in the framework of UN, NATO and other international organizations. During the meeting they also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
