Air Defense Units of the ARM Armed Forces Took Part in “Combat Commonwealth - 2011” Air Defense Exercises

On September 12, the delegation headed by the ARM Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan was present on the active phase of joint military drills of the joint air defense system of “Combat Commonwealth - 2011” of CIS-member countries at Ashuluk, Astrakhan Region. Units of Air Defense and Air Forces of Armenia, Belarus, Kirghizia, Russia and Tajikistan took part in the drills. Armenian units coped not only with air defense tasks, but also with anti-missile, displaying 100 percent efficiency. The Defense Ministers of Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, and Tajikistan also took part in the active phase of the drills. Representatives from India, Syria, Algeria, Malaysia, and Azerbaijan took part in the event as observers. The delegation headed by Seyran Ohanyan returned to Armenia on September 12.
