The First Session of the Working Group Dealing with Suggestion Development and Legal Acts Regulating the Activities of the ARM Armed Forces

On November 15, in the administrative complex of the ARM Defense Ministry, ARM Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan chaired the first session of the working group dealing with suggestion development and legal acts regulating the activities of the ARM Armed Forces.

The point of the working group is to unite the skilful and interested people for successfully implementing the legal reforms of the ministry. The activities of the working group are managed by the ARM Deputy Defense Minister Ara Nazaryan. During the session Seyran Ohanyan and the Military Prosecutor G. Kostanyan noted that the activities of the working group will include review of the legal acts regulating the activities of the Armed Forces or other acts concerning the sector, development of suggestions concerning the additions or reforms in the legal acts, as well as the realization of observations towards the factors contributing to the increase of the crime level in the Armed Forces and the presentation of suggestions which will eliminate or decrease the influence of those factors. Beside the authorized representatives of the ARM Defense Ministry, representatives from the Military Prosecutor’s Offices, Human Rights Defender’s Office and other people interested in the civil society will be involved in the group. Members of Violation Prevention and Strengthening of Legality and Discipline standing committee also took part in the session. The Committee headed by the ARM Deputy Defense Minister Ara Nazaryan which includes responsible representatives from relevant units is to discuss the incidents happened in the units of the ARM Armed forces, disciplinary and legal violations which affect the moral and psychological state of the staff, circumstances and reasons contributing those violations, the standards and the tendency of the increase or decrease of the incidents, as well as variants to decrease the level of corruption in the Armed Forces. Effective suggestions and programs will be developed to eliminate shortcomings and run-outs emerged during the discussion.
