Today, on March 23, session of inter-ministerial committee, coordinating the work of the Defense Strategy re-evaluation, was held in the Arm Defense Ministry. The National Security Council Secretary Artur Baghdasaryan and the Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan made speeches. During the meeting the project of public awareness document was discussed which reviews the results of the defense strategy re-evaluation.

The National Security Council Secretary said in his speech that the presentation of the military and defense problems in the public awareness document about" the defense strategy re-evaluation results" will help the society to better understand the issues and prospectives of the still unclear field. Defense Minister expressed satisfaction with the results of the defense strategy re-evaluation, noting that despite the fact that the process was carried out under confidential circumstances today, by means of public awareness document, we can inform our citizens and the international community about the planned and already made reforms in the defense system, interconnecting them with the assessment of the threats and existing potential First Deputy Defense Minister David Tonoyan made a report about the carried out work, noting that the public awareness document where the possible national security threats and ways of neutralizing them are listed, shows that the Republic of Armenia will be much safer after finishing the re-evaluation of the defense strategy, and realizing the processed and affirmed documents of strategic planning. While formulating the security threats, possible options of short, medium and long-term settlement of Karabakh conflict were taken into consideration. In accordance with established procedures, public awareness document, summarizing the defense strategic re-evaluation results, will soon be publicized.
