During his visit to Brussels on 10 March ARM Minister of Defence Seyran Ohanyan met Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia of the European External Action Service Miroslav Lajčák and director Gunnar Vigand.

During the Meeting they discussed issues on regional security and the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Both sides underlined the importance of the need to fully realize mutual trust enforcement activities. Particularly, Mr. Ohanyan found it intolerable that the Azerbaijani side continues its sniper and random firings towards Armenia after the agreement reached between the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan on 5 March. The Minister stated that because of the incidents resulted by the unaccountable announcements and abuses from the Azerbaijani side, the number of casualties increases. The EU Officials attached high importance to the peaceful settlement of the NKR conflict, expressing readiness to provide support towards improving the mutual trust environment.
