On October 17.2007 Armenian Defense Minister Michael Haroutounyan received the newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Armenia, Mr. Vahid Al Din Ismail Galal.

At the beginning of the meeting the interlocutors discussed issues concerning bilateral cooperation and regional developments. Sides underlined that high-level relations have been established between Armenia and Egypt, the importance of which has been repeatedly emphasized by the leaders of the two countries. Minister Haroutounyan noted that the friendly relations between Armenia and Egypt apply on a positive influence on ensuring stability in the entire region. Speaking about the Karabakh issue, the Minister underlined constructive position of any country, including Egypt, on the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh issue.
