On February 14, 2008 RA Defense Minister Michael Harutyunyan received the delegation headed by the Chairman of the Union of Armenians of Russia and the World Armenian Congress Ara Abrahamyan.

Minister Harutyunyan greeted the guests, highly appreciating Ara Abrahamyan’s contribution to the improvement of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. The gusts stated that the Congress and the Union are greatly interested in regional developments. The Minister noted that the role of the organizations in the above-mentioned processes is essential.

At the end of the meeting Michael Harutyunyan awarded Ara Abrahamyan with “Marshal Baghramyan” medal on for the assistance to the Armed Forces of Armenia. The interlocutors exchanged views on a number of issues related to regional security and stability.
