Seyran Ohanyan hosted the Ambassador of Estonia to Armenia Thomas Luk

On January 29, 2009 the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Seyran Ohanyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Estonia to Armenia Thomas Luk and Military Attaché Risto Lumi.

Seyran Ohanyan greeted the guest and expressed hope that the meeting will contribute to the development of military cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting Mr. Ohanyan stated that despite the geographical distance that separates the two nations they share a number of interests and aims, namely to develop cooperation in the fields of politics, the economy and defense. The parties also discussed the current level of relations in the military sphere and the perspectives of deepening those. At the end of the meeting Defense Minister stressed that Armenia has adopted the path of multi-sector defense and security cooperation with all interested parties and that the balanced positions of Estonia and the Baltic states in general regarding regional developments extends the possibility to develop cooperation between Armenia and Estonia in these spheres. Sides also talked about number of issues related to regional security.
