The sixth Armenian-British defence strategic consultations were held
29 November, 2023 14:11On November 28, the sixth Armenian-British defence strategic consultations were held in London. The Armenian delegation was led by the Head of the Defence Policy and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Levon Ayvazyan.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Varuzhan Nersesyan also attended the meeting.
The discussions covered issues related to regional and international security, as well as cooperation in defence field.
Levon Ayvazyan briefed the British partners on the current security situation around Armenia and the steps taken by the Armenian side in the context of regional peace and stability, including the "Crossroads of Peace" project. The discussions also delved into comprehensive reforms within the Armed Forces.
Both parties thoroughly discussed the current status and development prospects of bilateral defence cooperation, underscoring the significance of cooperative endeavors across various domains and the readiness to implement the agreements reached.
Following the consultations, the Head of the Defence Policy and International Cooperation of the MoD of the Republic of Armenia, Levon Ayvazyan, and the Director, Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, David Morgan signed a program on the Armenian-British defence cooperation for 2023-2024.
An agreement was reached to hold the seventh defence strategic consultation in Yerevan.
