Seminar-training for the staff of the military police of the Ministry of Defence

On May 4, within the framework of the action plan envisaged by the National Program for the Organization of Combating Trafficking and Exploitation in the Republic of Armenia during 2020-2022, a seminar-training was held for the employees of the Military Police of the Ministry of Defence at the initiative of the Human Rights and Integrity building Center of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia.

The training on human trafficking, labor exploitation, specifics of forced labor and legistation was conducted by Davit Tumasyan, a member of the anti-trafficking working group in Armenia, an international and national expert on trafficking, Doctor of Law.

The aim of the training was to raise the awareness of the staff about human trafficking, exploitation, as well as forced labor. During the meeting, issues related to the risks of forced labor in the Armed Forces, related cases, situations, identification of a cause-and-effect relationship, as well as the implementation of preventive measures were discussed.
