The Minister of Defence received the Ambassador of Italy

On September 1, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia David Tonoyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to the Republic of Armenia Vincenzo Del Monaco. A number of issues of mutual interest related to the cooperation between Armenia and Italy in the defence sector were discussed during the meeting. The new terms for the implementation of the postponed activities because of the pandemic, existing directions of the cooperation were reaffirmed.

The sides touched upon the service of the Armenian peacekeepers carrying out their mission as part of UNIFIL, as well as the organization of the shift. The issues related to the international and regional security were also discussed during the meeting. David Tonoyan presented the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border and on the line of contact and reasons for the ongoing tension.
