The issues related to the Armenian-Greek cooperation were discussed

On September 1, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia David Tonoyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to the Republic of Armenia Evangelos Tournakis and newly appointed Military Attaché, Colonel Gerasimos Avlonitis.

David Tonoyan greeted the Ambassador on the occasion of his first visit to the Ministry of Defence and congratulated the military attaché on assuming the mission in Armenia.

The issues related to the Armenian-Greek bilateral cooperation in the defence sector were discussed. The importance of the immediate resumption of the cooperation activities after the removal of the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, as well as of the implementation of the high-level mutual visits and discussions was noted during the meeting.

The sides also touched upon the issues related to the regional security. David Tonoyan presented the possible developments of the growth of tension because of the unconstructive actions of some performers in the region. Ambassador Tournakis, in his turn, touched upon the situation in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea.
