On February 7, by the order of Minister of Defense of Armenia David Tonoyan, the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense conducted unexpected inspections in many military units of the Armed Forces to check the state of the military discipline, in particular, to detect the participation of the servicemen in the trainings of the combat readiness.

A number of violations were identified. A group of servicemen absent from the trainings were detained and brought to the police stations of the Military Police.  The protocols were drawn up on the commanders failing to oversee the military discipline, on the basis of which service investigations would be conducted.

Unexpected inspections will be ongoing and the violators will be severely punished.
