The prospects of development of cooperation in defence between Armenia and Finland were discussed

On December 10, the Minister of Defence David Tonoyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland to the Republic of Armenia Arya Makkonen (residence in Helsinki) and newly appointed military attaché, Major Jan Pukila (residence in Moscow).

The Minister of Defense congratulated Major Pukila on his mission and wished him success during his tenure.

The parties discussed the prospects of development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Armenia and Finland in the field of defence. The importance of active contribution of the two countries to the international peace and stability operations was underlined, especially in Afghanistan, Kosovo and Lebanon, where Armenian and Finnish troops are carriying out their joint mission.

Issues related to regional security were also discussed during the meeting.
