According to the information disseminated by the NKR Defence Army, on the 14th of October, 2010 around 19:00 o’clock on the North-Southern part of the NKR Defence Army contact line the Azerbaijani AF broke the armistice. From the bullet of the Azerbaijani sniper fell conscript Vitali Ashot Igityan (born in 1988).
The ARM MoD strictly condemns the Azerbaijani adventurism to tenser the situation through a sniper in the Armneian-Azerbaijani contact line. Such actions from the Azerbaijani side, just after the monitoring held by the OSCE MG co-chairs, show that Azerbaijan not only despises the urges of the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to remove the snipers, but also ignores the concerns of the OSCE acting president and the OSCE MG co-presidents regarding the former casualties of the snipers, trying to fail the efforts of the international community for a peaceful settlement of the NK conflict.

The ARM MoD informs that relevant military actions will be undertaken to neutralize the actions of the Azerbaijani snipers in the Armenian-Azerbaijani contact line. The ARM MoD sympathizes with the relatives of Vitali Igityan. RA MoD Department of Information and Public Affairs
