On the 23rd of October, 2010 in the ARM MoD the sitting of the republican recruitment committee took place, during which the outcomes of the 2010 spring recruitment were summarized and the planning work of the 2010 fall recruitment was discussed.
ARM Minister of Defence Seyran Ohanyan opened the meeting. In his speech the Minister underlined the importance of the realization of public awareness, transparency and Army-society mutual trustworthy atmosphere during the fall recruitment process.
Then chief of the ARM AF GS Colonel-General Yuri Khachaturov introduced the outcomes of the 2010 spring recruitment process, talking about the success, as well as the shortcomings of it. Colonel-General Yuri Khachaturov also reported that the preparations for the 2010 fall recruitment are fully accomplished.

During the sitting the governor of the Lori Marz A. Kocharyan, chair of the ARM central military-medical commission A. Petrosyan, military commissar of Ararat, Colonel G. Davtyan also made speeches, introducing the problems that are present in their spheres. Seyran Ohanyan concluded the sitting expressing his satisfaction with the sum-up of the spring recruitment and the preparations for the fall recruitment processes. He also talked about the supplementary means of the fall recruitment process, particularly pointing out the special committee created under the public council adjunct to the ARM MoD, which will operatively study and proceed with the public suggestions and complains, assuring the effectiveness of the hot line. The Minister also emphasized the importance of the honest work of the military commissars and the military-medical commissions, in order to prevent the penetration of conscripts with physical and mental illnesses into the Armed Forces, because in the future such occasions create even greater issues in detachments, causing different accidents and negatively effecting on the Army’s efficiency. In this context the ARM MoD also talked about the recent incidents in the Army and gave great importance to the strengthening of the moral-psychological atmosphere. At the end of the sitting Seyran Ohanyan gave strict orders for properly organizing the recruitment process, preventing the shortcomings that were discovered before, and for democratic control and sufficient transparency. ARM MoD awarded a number of representatives of the ARM MoD and other state structures with certificates, medals and gifts for their assistance to the spring recruitment work.
