Armenian Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan received on 5 March UK Ambassador to Armenia Judith Farnworth, Defence Attaché Lt. Col. David Ethell and Deputy Defence Maj. William George on the occasion of the latter’s accreditation in Armenia.

Minister Sargsyan congratulate Maj. George and wished him success in his post. Sargsyan briefed the guests on the directions of bilateral cooperation in the defence field that are the Armenian Ministry of Defence deems especially important. These include the strengthening of human rights in the Armed Forces, proper conduct, military education, tactical preparation of junior commanders, regular military-political and bilateral consultations between the defence ministries and others.

Ambassador Farworth, from her part, reiterated UK’s readiness to continue the cooperation in the defence field and noted that it is envisaged to enlarge the framework of cooperation taking into consideration the transition to the parliamentary system of the Republic of Armenia and the UK's great experience in that direction.
