Speaking about the historic role of the battle of Oshakan in the Armenian-Russian military cooperation, Artak Zakaryan said that over the past two centuries, the friendship of the two peoples has been strengthened, proven by the current level of the Armenian-Russian strategic partnership in the defence field.

He reminded that the monument was built in mid 1830s with the funds donated by Armenian people and the Armenian Apostolic Church, and said it is crucial to set a tradition of commemorating the victims of the victory by gathering here every year.
