Courses for representatives of media organizations accredited by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia have commenced

The week long course entitled “Military Journalism” commenced on May 29th at the Vazgen Sargsyan Military University of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.

The aim of the course is to help representatives of media organizations to report on the military in a more competent and effective manner.

On May 29th, the representatives of media organizations who took part in the courses met with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, lieutenant – general Movses Hakobyan and the First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Artak Zakaryan. During the meetings, the importance of the role played by media organizations in presenting information concerning the military was specially emphasized and a number of questions concerning the provision of information concerning military affairs were discussed.

The courses consist of theoretical and practical parts. The participants will meet with the commanding staff of the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and will participate in lectures and discussions concerning the military. As part of the second stage, the journalists will visit military bases and combat positions and will carry out practical trainings.
