The annual Armenian-British military-political consultation took place at the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia

On March 6th, the annual Armenian-British military-political consultation took place at the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, led by the Chief of the Department of Defense Policy of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Levon Ayvazyan and Director of International Security Policy at the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom, Nick Curry. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Armenia Judith Fanworth also took part in the consultation.

During the consultations, the results of bilateral defense cooperation between Armenia and Britain in 2016 were summarized. The full implementation of the annual cooperation plan was noted. Programs of mutual interest in areas such as military education and training, training of junior commanders and peacekeeping instructors, and consultations concerning reform procedures to be carried out from 2017-2018 were discussed. At the end of the consultations, the 2017-2018 defense cooperation plan between the Republic of Armenia and the United Kingdom was signed.

 

Questions concerning regional security issues were also discussed during the consultation.
