Before meeting the students, the Minister of Defense toured around the premisces of the military-medical faculty, acquainted himself with the educational process, and spoke with members of the faculty and future medical doctors, while accompanied by the university rector Armen Muradyan, Chief of the Military-Medical Department of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia Colonel Kamavor Khachatryan, and Chief of the military-medical faculty of the YSMU, Colonel Samvel Galstyan.

During the meeting with the students, Minister Sargsyan expressed his gratitude to the former servicemen who participated in the April combat operations and were present there that day, for their patriotism and heroism. "It is common for us to look for heroes elsewhere. In reality, the heroes are amongst us. Heroes are those people, who in the most difficult and critical situations prove that wavering and worrying is not only unnatural but also unbecoming, despite seeming altogether normal," stated the Minister, while also expressing assurances that if the boys should ever stand before a similar ordeal again, they will display the same bravery, that they did during the April combat operations.

During the visit, Vigen Sargsyan was also at hospital #1 of the YSMU, in order to acquaint himself with the works aimed at creating a rehabilitation center for disabled veterans.
