Souvenir album dedicated to the participation of the Armenian nation in the Great Patriotic War

On February 7th, a ceremony for to the publication of a souvenir album dedicated to the participation of the Great Patriotic War took place at the Embassy of the Russian Federation. Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia Ivan Volinkin.

The unique limited edition album, of which only 100 copies exist, includes all postal notes dedicated to the victory in Great Patriotic War and descriptions of interesting situations and stories concerning Armenian Marshals, reconnaissance officers, Armenian heroes and Armenian divisions.

In their opening statements, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Vigen Sargsyan and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia Ivan Volinkin expressed the importance of Armenian-Russian friendship and mutual trust, as well as deep respect for veterans.

They expressed assurances that the collective publication will find its place in relevant museums in Armenia and Russia, keeping the memories of the brave fighters' past alive.

"It may seem that the Armenian Armed Forces were formed from scratch 25 years ago. However, the Armenian army's bright foundations were laid long ago upon traditions of heroism, which manifested themselves in the battle of Sardarapat and other other heroic battles. During the Great Patriotic War, Armenians, along with other peoples of the former Soviet Union, were able to save the world from fascism using their collective strength," stated Minister of Defense Vigen Sargsyan.
