The secretary of the council of Ministers of Defense of CIS countries has arrived in Yerevan

Secretary of the council of Ministers of Defense of CIS countries, major-general Yuri Dashkin arrived in Yerevan on November 22nd. On the first day of the two-day working visit, Yuri Dashkin was received by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Vigen Sargsyan and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, lieutenant-general Movses Hakobyan. Questions concerning regional and international security were discussed during the meeting.

The secretary of the council of Ministers of Defense of the CIS expressed the importance of the events organized in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the council of Ministers of Defense, which will take place in 2017. References were made to the research meetings of the organizational committee responsible for the events to take place in 2017, and the events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

The organization of the upcoming meeting of the council of Ministers of Defense in Moscow was also of importance during the meeting. The various directions for developing cooperation were also discussed.

In accordance with the 2016 working plan made by the CIS council of Ministers of defense, Yuri Dashkin will take part in another meeting of the memorial committee of the CIS council of Ministers of Defense on November 23rd.
