Agreements in the sphere of military technical cooperation were discussed

On October 13th, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Vigen Sargsyan held a meeting with the Director of the Allied Service of Military Technical Cooperation Alexander Fomin. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Armenia Ivan Volinkin also participated in the meeting.

Questions and future prospects concerning ongoing bilateral military technical cooperation were discussed.

In particular, Alexander Fomin spoke of the broad range of opportunities and the willingness to carry out programs in military technical cooperation. In this regard, he emphasized the importance of the international exhibition of armaments and defense technologies, "ArmHiTec" taking place in Armenia.

Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Vigen Sargsyan in turn spoke of the recent economically viable developments which resulted from the significant scientific research potential accumulated in Armenia, which have perspectives not only in defense, but also in entering international markets.

The two sides discussed agreements in the military technical sphere, and expressed content concerning their implementation process.

At the end of the meeting, First Deputy Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan and Deputy Director of the Allied Service of Military Technical Cooperation Vladimir Drozhov signed an additional protocol regulating military technical cooperation.

Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Vigen Sargsyan and Director of the Allied Service of Military Technical Cooperation Alexander Fomin signed an agreement concerning the implementation of the contract entitled "Development of military technical cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation."
