A delegation headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Armenia, Richard Mills, visited the Ministry of Defense on June 28th, with the goal of acquainting himself with the tasks, capabilities and structure of the Human Rights and Integrity Building Center of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.

During the visit, the guests met with the First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Davit Tonoyan. During the meeting, questions concerning the development of anti-corruption, integration of human rights and integrity concepts in the context of defense policy, development of the capabilities and mechanisms for the defense of human rights programs were discussed, and new areas for cooperation were explored.

Led by First Deputy Minister Davit Tonoyan, the members of the delegation visited the Human Rights and Integrity Building Center of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, where senior assistant of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, chief of the Center Deputy Colonel A. Avetisyan presented the main directions of the center's activities.

In his address, Mills noted that "Throughout the globe, one of the main priorities of the government of the United State of America is the strengthening of human rights, and cooperation with our friends to ensure everyone with the defense of human rights. It is commendable that the the Ministry of Defense works with specialists in education and civil society to address this important question. An armed forces that respects human rights and fights against corruption and excesses is stable and powerful, and deserves the pride of its people.
