Armenian Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan received Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe Thomas Hammarberg. During the meeting they discussed matters related to the human rights in the ARM Armed Forces. The Minister introduced Thomas Hammarberg to the reforms carried out in the ARM AF for developing human rights protection mechanisms. Seyran Ohanyan and Thomas Hammarberg shared the opinion that in order to strengthen the protection of human rights in the Armed Forces it is necessary to stir up the work towards increasing the legal awareness of servicemen and towards a more active struggle against legal violations.
