Pupils’ innovative solutions will also contribute the sphere of defence

On June 4th, the annual award ceremony for the “Vozni” computer competition was held at the “Yerevan Expo” exhibition complex. The event was supported by the High-Tech Cyber Security Center, under the initiative of the Ministry of Defence.

The competition was attended by 400 students, ranging from the 6th to 10th grades, from about 200 schools. The annual competition aimed at revealing pupils’ computer skills and abilities, whilst simultaneously enabling them to express their creative ideas through computer programs and discover their personal capacities. The given event also establishes a platform for the cooperation and exchange of experience between teachers from provinces and the capital.

Event organizer Ruzanna Nikoyan congratulated the students, extended her gratitude to all attendants, and noted that, one of the key objectives of the competition consists in giving a general idea to the pupils about computers, and raising a literate generation. She also stressed that today’s students are tomorrow’s soldiers, who are inclined to serve their knowledge for the further development of the armed forces.

Deputy Defence Minister Davit Pakhchanyan also emphasized on the importance of such events and went on to add that the given competition intends to provoke interest towards computer technology among pupils, for their innovative solutions will play an essential role in the sphere of defence.
