A sitting of the public council adjunct to the Ministry of Defence was held in the Armenian Defence Ministry, during which the work of 2010 was summarized and the working plan for 2011 was discussed. Chair of the council Gegham Harutyunyan read a report on the work done by the council.
In 2010 the members of the public council adjunct to the MoD visited 60 detachments, observed matters of health preservation and medical treatment of servicemen, the reception of conscripts and conscription processes, and matters on socio-legal protection of servicemen. In the framework of the “Pages of History and Culture” program 241 lectures were read in detachments by famous intellectuals. The recruitment committee acting under the support of the council, as a result of the observations of 2010 spring and fall recruitments, received, studied and processed 82 inquiries/complains.

ARM Minister of Defence Seyran Ohanyan thanked the members of the public council for their work, stating that the public council is an important circle in the army-society link and can have its input in ensuring public support in solving the problems that are present in the Army.
