At the request of the interlocutor, the RA Defence Minister informed about the military operations launched by Azerbaijan against the NKR, as well as the current situation on the line of contact between the opposing forces and on the Armenian-Azerbaijani national border. Seyran Ohanyan called the attention on the continuous violations of the oral agreement on the cessation of military operations by the Azerbaijani armed forces. The RA Minister of Defence stressed the necessity for creating an environment of trust through the international community’s condemnations of the aggressor’s actions, and the implementation of international mechanisms of accident investigations.

Ambassador Helbert Salber also expressed concern over the clashes in April, and its possible escalations. Whilst noting that the conflict has no military solution, H.Salber added that, the European Union recognizes the leading role of the OSCE Minsk Group in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement issue, but is also prepared to contribute to the intensification of negotiations.
