25 April, 2016 18:55The Minister first extended his gratitude to the representatives for the ongoing works, whilst emphasizing on the importance of their contribution in the effective implementation of tasks assigned to the armed forces. Seyran Ohanyan addressed the current military-political situation and urged supply companies – under the given circumstances – to accord further attention to the internal control over their own work, as well as to the quality and expiration dates of provided services and supplied goods.
At the end of the meeting, the participants were also introduced with the struggles against corruption within the field of defence. It was stressed that, the RA MoD legislation attaches high importance to maintenance and ethics issues in the fields of procurement and supply. Based on international best practice, additional mechanisms preventing conflict of interest, competition and abuse will be developed, and changes will occur in organizational areas.
