Today, the Minister of Defense hosted a Board Meeting in the administrative complex of the ARM MoD, which was attended by the Chief of GS AF, Colonel-General Yuri Khachaturov, deputies of the Defense Minister and the Chief of GS AF, and heads of departments. Within the framework of cooperation between the two Armenian Republics (Republic of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh Republic), representatives of the Defense Army were also present at the meeting.

Recently, extensive efforts have been carried out in defensive areas to improve fortifications, trenches, to equip trench cross-sections, and to build new shelters, military lodgings and canteens on the frontline. Consequently, military bases have been reinforced, thus improving living conditions for soldiers serving on the frontline. The efficient organization and implementation of sentinel duties, as well as the input of new technical equipment, are at the heart of the Armed Forces’ concerns. ARM Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan greeted the participants, touched upon geopolitical and regional developments, and emphasized on the necessity of further enhancing the performance of ongoing activities within the defense system. “The regional military-political state maintains its unstable situation through the enemy’s adoption of provoking maneuvers and the exclusion of trust between the parties, which inevitably distorts the process of negotiations. Hereupon, within this situation, the leadership of the armed forces is obliged to constantly consider the enhancement of military achievements in order to strengthen the level of combat readiness” said Seyran Ohanyan. Throughout the meeting, Major-General Artak Davtyan reported on the efficient organization of sentinel duties, the enemy’s provocative actions, commando raid operations, and means of technical equipment used by sentinels. Major-General Karen Abrahamyan, Chief of Engineering Forces Department, treated upon the degree of viability of troops, engineering equipment hindering the enemy’s advance, fortifications, creation of barriers, additional furnishing for military positions, recorded achievements and shortcomings. Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan concluded the meeting by outlining future plans and handing out a number of instructions.
