Within the frame of his visit, the ARM Defence Minister has been in the air defence units and the armament and military equipment maintenance reserve, where he verified the educational material base of the units, as well as their technical equipment; spoke with conscript soldiers carrying out their sentinel duties, took interest in their daily lives and social-living conditions. The Minister of Defence acquainted himself with the launching positions of the missile unit, the conditions of command centers; observed the possibilities of anti-aircraft fire and radar investigations; checked the personnel’s level of combat readiness, the organization of the military service and availability of necessary documents. The Defence Minister gave special attention to the ongoing construction works aimed at improving the military units, especially to a number of ancillary facilities, such as the barracks, classrooms, canteens, capital repair and other similar facilities. At the end of his visit, Seyran Ohanyan stressed the importance of the role of air defence units in the preservation of peace and security, and gave a number of instructions and orders to the command staff in order to carry out an effective implementation of planned activities.
