Today, the Board adjacent to the Defence Minister held an extended meeting in the administrative complex of the ARM Ministry of Defence. Within the framework of interoperability between the defence forces of the two Armenian Republics, the meeting was also attended by command staff representatives of the Defence Army.

The regular Board meeting was dedicated to the events aimed at increasing the efficiency of the governing system within the armed forces, including to the discussions on current issues and ways to overcome them, as well as on operational readiness related matters. ARM Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan greeted the attendants and noted that, considering the tense political military situation in the region, the range of treated subjects are extremely important. The Minister of Defence stressed that, by undermining the peaceful negotiation process, the enemy fosters militant rhetoric and arms race policies, which hinders the atmosphere of trust between the two parties. Therefore, the military command staff is once again required to focus on the development of an efficient governing system within the armed forces. During the Board meeting, accounting reports were issued by Major-General Artak Davtyan, Chief of AF GS Operative Department, heads of departments, and commanding officers of military units. Overall, it was stated that considerable work has been carried out aimed at improving the efficiency of the governing system and the level of operational readiness. Despite the significant progress, there are still certain deficiencies which require highly coordinated and consistent work. They also touched upon the conscripts’ improvement of knowledge and professional skills, as well as events committed to providing security to the sentinel staff, command staff training, operative assemblies, and military parade issues. Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan concluded the meeting by outlining future plans and handing out a number of instructions.
