Last night, the Azerbaijani side violated the preservation of the ceasefire regime by using rifles, including large-calibre weapons, in various directions along the contact line. On the morning of January 23, subdivisions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces made attempts of subversive reconnaissance actions in various direction of the line of contact with the town of Berd, in the Tavush Province. However, due to the vigilance and alertness of the RA MoD front units, the attempts of subversive reconnaissance actions have been averted. As a result of actions taken, subversive groups were halted and the enemy were forced to retreat. The Armenian Armed Forces are firmly in control of the situation along the borderline. Sadly, the Armenian side suffered casualties. Lieutenant Karen Galstyan and Private Artak Sargsyan were killed in action. The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia shares the grief of the loss and expresses its condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of the deceased.
