The Chief of General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces visits the Republic of Armenia

The Chief of General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces, Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze was invited to the Republic of Armenia on November 24 by the Chief of General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Yuri Khachaturov.

During the meeting between the Chiefs of General Staffs, the parties discussed the current process of the Armenian-Georgian cooperation and future prospects within the defence sphere. Both sides praised the current level of the Armenian-Georgian defence cooperation and stressed the importance of its contribution to the development of military development in those two neighbouring countries and also the maintenance of stability within the region. The meeting resulted in the obtainment of a number of agreements on the expansion of the bilateral military cooperation. The RA Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan had a separate conversation with Major-General V.Kapanadze. Throughout their conversation, they touched upon issues of mutual interest on bilateral cooperation in the field of defence and security, as well as security issues within the region. The Chief of General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces noted that his country praises the level of military cooperation with Armenia and expressed his confidence on the prerequisites of development of their collaboration, making it more productive. During their visit to the Republic of Armenia, the delegation headed by Major-General V.Kapanadze will pay a visit to the RA MoD military institute named after Vazgen Sargsyan and also Tsitsernakaberd, the Armenian Genocide memorial complex.
