The concluding stage of the annual gathering trainings
18 October, 2014 00:00According to the 2014 preparation plan of the Armenian Armed Forces, from October 13 to 18, gathering trainings were held for the RA ministries, agencies and regional officials.
Within the framework of the six-day gathering-trainings, lectures were held by RA Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan, Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Shavarsh Kocharyan and, representatives of the Ministry of Defence and other government agencies. The officials participating to the meeting were presented with the assessment methods for political decisions and situations, the nature of war and mobilization issues with around two dozen lectures.
The practical phase of the gathering trainings was held on October 15, during which the officials of ministries, agencies and regional councils were divided into separate groups, inclined to fulfil the proposed training exercises and carry out the responsibility of taking appropriate decisions as civil emergency defence departments. The purpose of these military exercises was to develop the skills of state officials in the evaluation of military and political situations, and, according to the situation, implement the right conclusions and recommendations.
On the same day, the committee summarized the decisions and suggestions acquired through discussions. Through the work carried out via study groups, as well as additional tests, government officials were given a mark determining the level of their preparedness.
On October 17, the participants of the gathering trainings got acquainted with the technical characteristics of weapons in one of the RA MoD military units and tested their abilities through grenade projection exercises and shooting trials.
On October 18 – the last day of the gathering trainings – the Chief of General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Mr. Yuri Khachaturov also held a lecture, presenting the prospects for development within the armed forces. At the end of his lecture, Mr.Yuri Khachaturov generally praised the readiness of the participants and noted that, due to the complete program dedicated to the harmonization and implementation of joint operations conducted by state agencies in wartime situations, every year the effectiveness of inter-agency cooperation gradually increases.
