During the meeting discussions focused on strengthening the public confidence towards the Armed Forces, inculcating the principles of legality and justice in the recruitment process, the social and legal ensurance of servicemen, improvement of psychological service and enhancement of educational activities in the armed forces as well as HRM policy issues and others Defence Minister noted key issues of this stage of defence policy and development of the armed forces, highlighted the role of the Public Council in presentation of unbiased public opinion and controversial issues, proposing solutions, expanding the cooperation and communication between the army and society, as well as implementing public control towards the armed forces. The members of the Public Council emphasised positive changes in the public policy of the Ministry of Defence, in particular, the increase in degree of transparency and efficiency, which contributes to enhancement of the confidence of public towards armed forces. Comprehensive reference has been made to the recruitment process. The Council expressed its support for the qualitative improvement of the complex activities, for active and decisive steps to eliminate corruption, the importance of the process of vaccination before call-up and the process of allocation of the service by drawing were also mentioned. Proposals were submitted by the Council member for improving the psychological activities, implementing public control over the draw process, assuring the social security for families of servicemen as well as support in the other issues. Towards the end of the meeting, the ARM Defence Minister stressed the importance of regular meetings with members of the Council and willingness to continue it in near future.
