The Armenia and Greece are expanding defence cooperation

On 20 November the delegation headed by Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan completed their 2-day official visit to Greece.

During the visit Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan met with Greek Minister of National Defence Dimitris Avramopoulos and Prime Minister Antonis Samaras. Both parties highly valued the present level of the Armenian-Greek defence co-operation of more than two decades and emphasized the importance of its further enhancement in the fields of military education, military industry, training of Special Forces and peacekeeping. As a result of negotiations the Greek side expressed its readiness to fully support the Armed Forces of Armenia in development of peacekeeping capabilities and implementation of defence reforms. The parties also decided to review all agreements setting legal round for defense cooperation and to establish a high-level joint committee to better coordinate the defence cooperation and to study possibilities for collaboration in new fields of common interest. The delegation headed by the Armenian Minister of Defence also visited the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier and laid a wreath paying tribute.
