On October 5, Seyran Ohanyan, Minister of Defense of Armenia hosted Peter Mikiska, Chargé d`Affaires at the Czech embassy in Armenia.

Seyran Ohanyan congratulated Mr.Mikiska on assuming his new position and noted that Armenia highly appreciates the cooperation with the Czech Republic in the defense sector and expressed hope that the establishment of embassies both in the Republic of Armenia and Czech Republic will be a good stimulus to further bilateral cooperation. Mr. Mitiska conveyed the willingness of the Czech side to deepen the cooperation with Armenia in different sectors. At the meeting the sides also referred to regional security issues. Mr. Mitiska particularly was interested in the outcomes of the CSTO ``Interaction 2012`` military exercise and the state of the ongoing Strategic Command and Staff training. The Minister of Defense informed the guest that all participating units of the ``Interaction 2012`` demonstrated a high level of coordinated interoperability which was the main objective of the training. With regard to the ongoing Strategic Command and Staff training the Minister informed that the objective of the exercises is to verify the interoperability among the Armed Forces, the state and municipal bodies in case of aggression from the enemy. Seyran Ohanyan underlined the fact that Armenia has always ensured the transparency of exercises conducted in Armenia and that the society and Armenian partners have always been informed about the aims and objectives of the trainings.
