The exercises are conducted in accordance with the joint action plan 2012 of operational and combat readiness of collective forces management. The exercise will work on peacekeeping tasks preparation and conduct by collective forces within the collective security region, separating the parties to a conflict and ensuring compliance to a cease fire. Troops of the CSTO member- countries will accomplishthe training tasksof forming collective peacekeeping forces to implement peacekeeping missions in imaginary country of Central Asia, a member of the CSTO. About 950 troops are taking part in the drills, 70 automobileand 35 panzerunits, and 4 MI -17 aircrafts.The Armenian peacekeeping unit is composed of 30 peacekeepers.
