General Edward Asryan had a a tete-a-tete conversation with Chief of the Defence Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of India
2 February, 2026 15:28At the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defence, First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan had a tete-a-tete conversation with Chief of the Defence Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of India, General Anil Chauhan, followed by an expanded meeting of delegations.
During the meeting, the current course of cooperation between Armenia and India in the field of defence were discussed, and the activities carried out within the framework of the Bilateral Cooperation Plan were summed up.
The parties also discussed a number of issues related to the effective implementation of the activities planned for 2026. The importance of holding events in the field of education, professional retraining, exercises, and the exchange of experience in various fields in Armenia and India were noted.
Lieutenant General Edward Asryan presented the directions of the transformation of the Armenian Armed Forces, emphasizing the importance of Armenia-India defence cooperation in this process.
