On the 3rd of July the RA Minister of Defence Seyran Ohanyan received Mr. Sayed Ali Saghayian – the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Republic of Armenia. S. Ohanyan congratulated the ambassador for the reelection of Mr. Mahmud Ahmadinejad in the presidential elections in Iran, and hoped that Armenian-Iranian bilateral relations will become stronger and will enter a new quality phase of development.

During the meeting the two parties reconfirmed the positions of Armenia and Iran in regional and bilateral cooperation issues, exchanged ideas around a number of matters regarding regional security and stability. Mr. Sayed Ali Saghayian informed that Minister of Defence of Iran, Major-General Mohammad Najar invites Mr. Seyran Ohanyan to visit Iran.
