Defence minister receives head of EU office in Armenia

Armenian Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan received on 10 July Head of the EU Office in Armenia, Ambassador Pyotr Switalski.

During the meeting, Minister Tonoyan said the Armenia-EU relations are on the rise and a dynamic development of the cooperation is apparent. He praised the EU support of the reforms and development of the democratic institutions in Armenia, underscoring the importance of cooperation in the defence sector.

Ambassador Switalsky also praised the dynamic development of Armenia-EU cooperation, which has given a practical impetus to the implementation of the Comprehensive and Advanced Partnership Agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the European Union. He also reiterated that the parties have political will and necessary potential for expanding and deepening the effective cooperation.

The parties also discussed the situation in the Karabakh conflict zone and the recent developments.
