Strategic regiment-level military exercises with live fire have taken place

In accordance with the 2016 Armed Forces preparation plan, Strategic regiment-level military exercises with live fire have taken place on the grounds of one of the military bases under the jurisdiction of the 5th army corps, from October 10th to 14th.

The subdivisions which were included in the exercises for strategic operations carried out their assigned tasks under conditions which closely simulated actual combat.

New situations emphasizing the importance of the line, the ability of subdivisions to conduct battle, increasing the ability to cooperate, and being struck in fighting were simulated.

The aim of the regiment-level military exercise was to assess the level of combat-preparedness of subdivisions, harmonize subdivisions during defensive and counter-attack operations and the enhance servicemen's ability to operate in difficult condition.

The skills of commanders of subdivisions in preparation for and conduct of defensive combat, counterattack and fire control were also improved.

Summarizing and analyzing the results of the exercise, commander of the 5th army corps, Major-General Karen Abrahamyan concluded that all tasks were successfully completed and that all subdivisions have a high level of combat preparedness.
