On September 29, starting from 10:30, the F-16 fighting falcons belonging to the air force of the Republic of Turkey took off from the “Gyanja” airport of the Republic of Azerbaijan. They were ensuring the shelling of the land units of the Armed Forces and settlements located in Vardenis, Mets Masrik, Sotk of Vardenis region by the Turkish-made “Bayraktar” UCAV and Azerbaijani Su-25 jet aircraft.

During the abovementioned period, our air force was providing air support to the air defence units of the Armenian Armed Forces.

While fulfilling a combat mission in the air space of the Republic of Armenia, during the aerial battles, the multifunctional F-16 fighter of the Republic of Turkey shot down a Su-25 jet aircraft of the air forces of the Armenian Armed Forces. The pilot, unfortunately, died heroically.

The F-16 multifunctional fighter of the Republic of Turkey, according to the objective control means, was at 60km depth and 8200 meters altitude.
