A photo exhibition was opened in the administrative complex of the RA MoD

On January 27, a photo exhibition named “The Armed Forces of the United States in the First Republic of Armenia 1919-1920” was opened in the administrative complex of the RA MoD.

The humanitarian aid provided by the United States in 1919-1920 to the First Republic of Armenia is presented in the exhibition opened by the initiative of the Armenian Assembly of America.

The opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Defense of Armenia David Tonoyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Armenia Lynne Tracy, representatives of the Armenian Assembly of America and supreme commissioned staff of the RA MoD.

The Minister of Defense of Armenia welcomed the participants and congratulated them on the opening of the exhibition. David Tonoyan emphasized the importance of this initiative, thanked the United States of America for the assistance and friendly relations. “For many, the US assistance during those years was fatal. Particularly, the new opportunities were created for studying, due to which many of our compatriots were able to get an education and achieve impressive achievements during that difficult period".

Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Armenia also delivered a welcoming speech. Lynne Tracy congratulated the participants on the 28th anniversary of the formation of the Armenian army, spoke about the work done over the past 100 years and its importance, stressing that the Republic of Armenia is not only a country that receives support, but also contributes, in particular, by participating in the activities of securing world peace, by carrying out a peacekeeping mission in a number of countries.
