Under the joint initiative of the Ministry of Defence and the Yerevan Municipality, about 1,700 parents of soldiers, who are residents of Yerevan and now serving in border zones, have been given the opportunity to visit their children.

On the eve of the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan, this time, the gathering point for parents was organized at the vicinity of the Erebuni Museum on April 27.

Before the departure of the buses, acting Defence Minister Vigen Sargsyan and Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan wished the parents a safe trip, talked with them and inquired about their feelings and concerns.

Speaking about the importance of this initiative, acting Minister Sargsyan noted that it is first of all very important for those serving in the front lines as they gain more confidence after meeting with their parents. He added that such initiatives help to strengthen the bond between the society and the army.
